The boat came through tropical storm Beryl in great shape. She is at Lamb's Yacht Center in Jacksonville, FL. The Dock-master said that the water is 3 ft over the docks. The slips are covered so some of the boats had to lower their antennas and biminis due to the high water.
I had my 2 week post-op appointment with my Surgeon yesterday. He was pleased with progress and with my walking program which is up to 2.5 miles/day. Slowly increasing to 4 Mi /day.
We are in Pearland for our eldest Granddaughter's High School Graduation which is tomorrow evening.
Will Post again when we have our travel plans finalized.
Hello Ozel and Maryann,
ReplyDeleteThe world is a very small place! Last week we heard from our middle child, daughter Mackenzie who works at Bank of America, that she recently met your son who also works at BOA, and they were astonished to find out they BOTH had parents who were doing the Great Loop and that you are followers of our blog! what a coincidence! We are sorry to hear that surgery and other matters have delayed your plans, but glad to hear your recovery seems to be going well. We hope you are able to take off for the Loop after this season. It is a really wonderful adventure! My parents and two sisters all live in Houston, and one sister and her husband owned a house in Rockporg for many years, so we have lots of inter connections. As I said, small world. Hope things continue well with you, and we hope to meet you along the way when we return to southern climes.

I am embarrassed that it had taken so long to respond to your message. We were also surprised that our children worked together. Thank you for contacting us. I'm sure that we will want to get some good advice from you in the future.
ReplyDeleteWe are in Angel Fire, New Mexico with our younger son and his family. It is cool up here- 70's in daytime and low 50's at night.
I think that my surgery can be called a success since I'm walking 3-4 miles per day pain free! A miracle.
We plan head to Oregon the 2nd week of August in our RV - and then to see Sean, our oldest son, and his family in the Bellevue at the end of August. We have been invited to join Ozel's brother and his friend on an RV tour in Canada in September (Vancouver, Banff, Jasper, and Victoria Island . I think that we will most likely do it!
We also plan to drive to Jacksonville, FL in November, to check on our boat and tp explore the St. John River for a week or so. We will spend the ski season in Angel Fire and then continue our voyage on the "Loop" next April. At least we won't have to redo the Gulf!
Please let me know when you receive my note...email - mmcox@sbcglobal.net --cell 361/727-7699 or via the blog.
I am setting up a blog for our RV and will post to it as we progress on our land voyage - rvnissa.blogspot.com
Yours,
Maryann and Ozel Cox
